Worship
July 6, 2025
Worship is not about content more than it’s about the heart.
May our worship be driven by the Holy Spirit.
Let’s look into Ezra. Israel was in “time out” for 70 years. There was punishment, loss, and suffering. Then they are brought out, and, as we see in chapter 3, there is immediate praise to Jesus!
Heart check here: if I were in a time of punishment for 70 years straight, would I be praising Jesus or questioning him? Questioning or cursing and griping about where he had put me? Would I say, it’s about time Jesus, or would I praise him for his glorious, divine timing?
We are called to a greater heart posture of gratitude for God’s goodness because he remains good and faithful no matter what our circumstances are. No matter the ‘punishment’ or ‘suffering’ we may be experiencing.
And it takes a heart posture of humility to be grateful, to have this level of gratitude we see in Ezra.
Takeaway:
Good thing our paths are difficult. But far less difficult with the aid and pursuit of life with the Holy Spirit!!!
“I’ve got you, my child.”
Discouragement does not have to equal debilitation. The enemy plots to distract and discourage us because he knows the power of the work and continuous potential we as Christians have in the Spirit for the glory of God!
Resistance does not leave us but we build the strength through the Spirit through others walking in the path of righteousness to encourage. Lord, you are bringing to my mind a handful of strong women of God who I have close, beautiful friendships with, that lead and encourage me well. Mentors, loved ones. You provide people in my life to speak life, build me up, be there for me, as reflections of how you work and who you are. Thank you Jesus.
