Puzzles

I love a good puzzle. Jigsaw. Solving crime scenarios. Reading the Bible. Let me elaborate on the latter. I, more recently than not, have looked at reading and studying the Bible like it’s a game, or a puzzle, if you will. Finding how interconnections of each story crosses over to random parts of the book. I love that it’s not chronological. I used to be frustrated with the concept. Any other book is relatively easy to read cover to cover, why not the Bible? Probably multiple reasons, but I decided to take on a different method of studying the word. I will take one passage, look at the footnotes, and do a dive into different passages that have the same themes, sometimes then read those stories and context, see common themes, then ultimately see how the underlying theme of it all is who Jesus is and how he operates. Like an approach to life. He is the root of it all.

Today, I was led to a root of Christ that is his uniqueness. He is The One. There is no other like Him. None can compare. He has no rival, no equal. Now, this is not a new concept for me, but it is awesome. Wonderful. And not the muddled-down versions of those words. He is one that inspires awe. One that fills me with wonder. Like an infant’s gaze, taking on pieces of its new world.

We are called to have a Fear of God, but why is it that every time someone encounters God himself, he says ‘fear not‘? Is it because we naturally fear the wrong thing? Are we fearing not God? Or fearing not other things? Hmm..

Back to the theme, why would I fear anything other than God?
