Fountain of Life

From a voice memo
Good morning. Jesus moment, so cool. Praise the Lord. I woke up this morning and yesterday I took my little lunch break and there's this church I found and passed by, and it's beautiful. There's this little garden sanctuary thing. I was just like wow, what a peaceful place I'll come back here. I was thinking I should come back in the morning, so I came in this morning, a little bit later than I usually do, but I was like you know what, I'm showing up. I'm doing it.
Praise the Lord.
So I'm singing, I’ve got my guitar here. And I go to leave after you know a good bit, and Lord what?? Like actually because he was just putting on my heart… there's a fountain here, right, and like he's literally a fountain of life. I mean, what a visual. Then the sprinklers start turning on, the church bell starts ringing because it’s 8 o'clock, and…. just first of all what peace I have right now. Praise the Lord because boy do I need some, right? And I'm just sitting in the fact like Jesus, you are the fountain life. I want to come to you so that you fill me and nourish me and my cleanse my soul and my heart and refresh me! Refresh my soul, you know, and he can and is totally doing that. He quite literally real time is doing that.
So I get up to go and he's like hang on a second. You should read my word. So I go and I'm like, I honestly don't even know what I'm reading, Jonah maybe? Maybe I'll read a Psalm and then I was like, you know what might be good? Jeremiah 17, ‘cause I know it's about being rooted in Christ but, I don't know, let me just get a little refresh, right, so let me just read this to you:
All right, Jeremiah, 17, in its fullness:
“The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron; with a point of diamond it is engraved on the table of their heart, and on the horns of their alters, while their children remember their alters and their Asherim, beside every green tree and on the high hills, on the mountain in the open country. Your wealth and all your treasures, I will give for spoil as the price of your high places for sin throughout all your territory. You shall loosen your hand from your heritage that I gave to you, and I will make you serve your enemies in a land that you do not know, for in my anger a fire is kindled that shall burn forever.
Thus says the Lord: Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord. He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land.”
That is how I'm feeling right now. Literally parched. I was like, how can I describe the month that I've been [in South Carolina]? I don't know I'm like Lord help me, but I’m parched.
Okay so next… what does it say??
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought,” Amen, “for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
“The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately sick; who can understand it? I the Lord search the heart and test the mind to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”
“Like the partridge that gathers a brood that she did not hatch, so is he who gets riches but not by justice; in the midst of his days they will leave him, and at his end he will be a fool.”
“A glorious throne set on high from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary,”
Sanctuary, literally where I am right now, but also at the feet of Jesus is a sanctuary…
“O Lord, the hope of Israel, all who forsake you shall be put to shame; those return away from you shall be written in the earth, for they have forsaken the Lord,”the what?, “the fountain of living water.”
So I'm fired up today. I’m like what in the world?? Lord, thank you for speaking to me and over my heart and then affirming it with your word literally directly exactly how you say. Why am I surprised? I'm not surprised. I'm just in awe. So I just wanted to share that because our God, He's so good and he cares so much about me and you and us as individuals as human beings. He knows all of our thoughts. He tests our hearts and minds and knows exactly what we need and exactly what we're lacking at the end of the day.
The root of what we lack is the fullness of Him and that's what we're trying to attain, right? But we stumble and we fall but He helps us come back to him, so that's why I am… this morning I have a full day, but I am excited, and now instead of approaching my day like, oh gosh, Lord, please please help me. I'm like okay Lord, you are with me. I invite you into my day and invite you into what I'm doing. You've got me. You're providing. You literally are over here flourishing and flowing. If I would just step into your shower of love, then I'll experience it as I'm doing things rather than like looking from afar being like oh gosh, that looks like a nice little refreshing shower… no, I can literally step into it!
So praise the Lord today for today and every other day. But today, we woke up. And another day that we wake up is another day that we have life, and, therefore, we have purpose in him for the fullness of building the kingdom, step-by-step, person by person, interaction by interaction, and in what we do. So that is my prayer for you and me. That we would trust in God, step into his fullness and his shower of love, and be so filled that we overflow into the lives and hearts of others. If I could show someone just a glimpse of who Jesus is through me, that would be beautiful.
And I love you so much, and Lord loves you even more.
